Logan Morrison will have to change his famous Twitter handle. The artist formerly known as @LoMoMarlins shall now be rechristened @LoMoMariners after Miami’s deal sending him to Seattle in exchange for RHP Carter Capps.

Morrison will no doubt have plenty to say about the trade on Twitter. He enjoys talking on Twitter. Evidently he fancies himself a Twitter gadfly. Sometimes he puts his foot in it on Twitter, but that’s just one of the perils of modern life.

Occasionally Morrison even plays baseball. Last season with Miami he hit .242 with 36 RBI. At 26 he may still be blossoming. Or he may just be a mediocre player who gets a lot of attention because of the stuff he says. Seattle’s hoping it’s the first one.

Miami gets back Carter Capps, a righty reliever who last year posted a 5.49 ERA in 53 appearances.

Seattle has been the busiest organization in baseball the last week. First they signed Robinson Cano for an obscene amount of money. On Wednesday they added Corey Hart and Logan Morrison.

More moves could be coming for the Mariners as they load up for a run in the wide-open AL West. They may not have any idea what they’re doing up there right now, but at least they’re not shy.
