There are 30 teams in major league baseball, but only four of them still have a shot to sign Bronson Arroyo. Two of those four are the Minnesota Twins and Cincinnati Reds. And the other two are…
We’ll have to get back to you on that.
Right now only half of Bronson Arroyo’s final four has been revealed. The best we can do on the other half is take a stab. It’s probably two of these seven: Giants, Dodgers, Orioles, Phillies, Mets, Angels, Pirates.
Or there could be a mystery guest.
The final list goes down to three if the Twins sign Doug Pelfrey, a move that would automatically strike Arroyo from their plans.
Arroyo is believed to be seeking a two-year contract. He’s an older guy at 36 but definitely worth taking a risk on given his history of durability. He has averaged well over 200 innings-per-year since 2005. And he’ll get you your ten wins.
Last year with Cincinnati Arroyo went 14-12 with a 3.79 ERA in 202 innings.
