Highlights from the 2013 MLB Season: The Gems
Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports
Who doesn’t want to see a few defensive gems? Uh, everyone wants to see a spectacular play in the field. Considering we viewed some not-so-stellar plays earlier today, here’s the chance to witness a few of the phenomenal plays as we continue our “Highlights from the 2013 MLB Season”.
Oh, and when you watch the vids, you are going to hear “One of the best plays you will ever see” or something along those lines. That’s because, they are.
1. J.B. Shuck
“Take that Mike Trout and Peter Bourjos!” Both of those guys have a gem or two to their names as well.
Like the tribute the guys in the dugout pay by tipping their caps to Shuck.
This is my personal fave from the 2013 season. I still don’t know how BP made this play. He’ll chalk it up to his swag.
That’s Reds broadcaster Thom Brennaman with the “Holy Moses” call.
“No way that just happened.”, “Come on, Jose.” Seriously, Jose.
It did…and we’re all better for seeing it.
I wonder what Hawk thought of this play?
or…
And that wasn’t the only time Machado nailed Alfonso Soriano either.
You could have another half dozen Machado plays in this post…easily.
6. Carlos Gomez
That nasty ol’ Tal’s Hill.
And this…
“Just give him the Gold Glove right now.” And so they did…
