I have seen August: Osage County and I can officially declare that I liked the CC Sabathia/Mark Teixeira version better than the Meryl Streep/Julia Roberts version.
I mean seriously, Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts as a mother and daughter with a complicated, sometimes physically violent relationship? Such predictable casting.
CC Sabathia and Mark Teixeira in wigs? That is inspired.
Now we need a full remake with nothing but Yankees. Alex Rodriguez would be perfect in the Margo Martindale role. Ichiro Suzuki would be fantastic as the slutty sister played by Juliette Lewis.
And of course, Derek Jeter HAS to be the dopey cousin played by Benedict Cumberbatch in the movie. Has to.
