All winter MLB has been running this Face of MLB tournament. Like most people I’ve been ignoring the tweets as they showed up in my feed but that all changed when the A’s rolled out Eric Sogard’s campaign.
Today is the day. Tweet #EricSogard for #FaceofMLB. RTs count. You can vote up to 25 times. Must use both hashtags. pic.twitter.com/QqXzuxHfXz

Eric Sogard’s Face of MLB campaign is the first one that almost made me want to vote for Face of MLB.
#Nerdpower is the best hashtag slogan in the short history of Face of MLB.
A quick list of rejected Face of MLB campaign hashtag slogans:
Ryan Braun – #HGHPower
Prince Fielder – #Tofupower
CC Sabathia – #Slimfastpower
Masahiro Tanaka – #Poodlepower
Bartolo Colon – #Wrestlergutpower
Eric Sogard deserves to win Face of MLB. Just because Mike Trout is overexposed. And because the idea of any member of the Oakland A’s being the face of the entire league is fundamentally hilarious.
