Three of the top pitching prospects in baseball were on display in the Cactus League Monday, with two appearing at Salt River Fields.

  • Thought by many to be the game’s best overall pitching prospect, Archie Bradley looked the part in a star for the Arizona Diamondbacks. In three scoreless innings against a split Colorado squad, the 2011 first round pick allowed just one hit and two walks and struck out six Rockies.
  • On the other side, the highly regarded Eddie Butler worked three innings in relief for Colorado. The hard throwing right-hander walked two and allowed one hit and surrendered two earned runs.
  • Generally considered the second-best among pitching prospects, Jon Gray took the mound for the other Rockies squad against Seattle. The big right-hander tossed two scoreless innings in relief and struck out two. He allowed two hits and one walk in the effort.

Other pitching performances included:

  • In Maryvale, Cubs reliever Arodys Vizcaino worked a scoreless inning against the Brewers.
  • Brewers Rule 5 selection Wei-Chung Wang struck out two Cubs hitters in one perfect inning.
  • Chad Rogers struggled for the Reds in one and one-third of an inning. He allowed five earned runs on six hits, including two home runs.
  • C.C. Lee earned the save for Cleveland while striking out two in a scoreless ninth inning.
