Durham Bulls unveil their Star Wars jerseys

The force will be with the Durham Bulls May 4 when they play baseball with R2D2’s face printed on the front of their shirts.

The Bulls have Star Wars Night every year, and this year’s edition will feature the team taking the field in jerseys inspired by everyone’s favorite little fire hydrant-looking Death Star hacking bleepity-bleeping droid.

After the game, the jerseys will be auctioned off for charity. So if you’re in to freaky baseball/Star Wars cross over role play, get your butt on over to the Durham Bulls game May 4. You might score yourself an R2D2 jersey.

This would seem a lot more clever if there weren’t already a popular hipster bathing suit with the same design.

Maybe this is really a tribute to nerdy selfies?

Suggestion for next year’s Star Wars night? Jawa jerseys. Complete with hoods.
