Nelson Cruz got a pie to the face after opening day homer

Yes, the post game shaving cream pie to the face is still a thing.

Nelson Cruz got the pie-face treatment Monday after belting a home run in the Orioles’ 2-1 win over the Red Sox. Adam Jones did the honors.

Nice way to welcome Cruz to the team.  Now can we please do away with this utterly moronic tradition?

The shaving cream pie to the face is almost as stupid as the hot foot. And the hot foot is pretty darn stupid.

Now getting back to the game for a second…how many of you had Grady Sizemore and Nelson Cruz both going deep in the opener?

The free agent also-rans both pick up dingers in the first game. The big-time free agent signing of the offseason, Robinson Cano…nice game at 2-4, but zero dingers.

And, zero cream pies to the face for Cano.
