Orioles outfielder Adam Jones is becoming the go-to MLB player if you want a pretty out there opinion.
Jones made some waves the other day by saying fans who run onto the field should be punished by getting kicked with cleats.
Now Jones is aiming his wrathful laser-words at Yankees starter Masahiro Tanaka.
The hype machine has been churning extra hard for Japanese superstar Tanaka ever since he signed that huge contract with the Yankees. Because it’s the Yankees.
But Adam Jones, he ain’t buying that hype.
Jones was asked about Tanaka and he totally went off.
“Why don’t you ask Tanaka about me? I’m the one who’s been over here in the major leagues for a while. Congratulations, he did it over there. Don’t make it like he’s the dirtiest guy in the world. He was 24-0 — in Japan,” Jones said to Newsday’s Steven Marcus.
That was before the Orioles faced Tanaka. After Tanaka struck Jones out twice, Jones had this to say to Newsday’s Anthony Rieber.
“Am I [supposed] to go home and say I faced Tanaka tonight? Just go throw a party that I faced Tanaka? It’s another pitcher. Another pitcher in the rotation. Nothing special to me. It’s just another guy that we have to go through to get to where we want to be.”
Right. So Adam Jones is immensely jealous of Masahiro Tanaka and probably all the Yankees for the attention they get in the media.
And he really hates fans and wants to beat them up.
