Now that the season is underway, there are plenty of highlight reels and baseball clips floating around on television and the internet. My favorite part of that is the fact that the Top 10 Plays on Sportscenter once again have baseball and not just hockey goals and the same slam dunks over and over. With that, here are some highlight reels from the NL East for the past week.
Atlanta Braves
Ervin Santana got off to a great start for the Braves in his season debut. He may not make fans forget about the injuries to Kris Medlen and Brandon Beachy in the long run, but fans had plenty of reason to chop their tomahawks after Santana’s first victory.
Miami Marlins
Giancarlo Stanton hit a MAMMOTH home run at home as it went into the Budweiser bar area and traveled an estimated 484 feet. Stanton has been on a tear and this long ball shows just how hot he is right now.
New York Mets
The New York Mets may not have an everyday spot anymore for Ike Davis, but that didn’t stop him from hitting a walk-off grand slam off the bench. His pinch hitting duties may get increased if this happens every time he gets the first eight innings off.
Philadelphia Phillies
Ben Revere is leading his team in hits so far this season and his making diving catches like this in the outfield. He is not afraid to risk his beautiful face in the process and has been one of the bright spots for the Phillies in 2014.
Washington Nationals
Jayson Werth took matters into his own hands with his team down by a run, as he hit a grand slam to give Washington the lead in this game. The Nationals went on to win, and Werth’s efforts are just one example of how well this team is hitting as of late.
