Video: College player makes great catch, slides hard into fence
Sometimes you just have to lay it all on the line to make that great play.
Chuck Gasti of California (PA) was willing to make that sacrifice to record an out against Mercyhurst and help protect a 5-0 lead.
And he definitely paid the price.
As you can see at the end of the vid, Gasti actually got his leg caught under the fence and had to wave over his coaches and teammates to help pull him free.
I haven’t read any reports about a college baseball player having his leg amputated after getting it caught in a fence, so I’m going to assume Gasti still has his leg.
Great effort by Gasti. Great job by California (PA).
