It’s been a little while since I’ve done one of these minor league reports, but here we go!
For the Triple-A Las Vegas 51s (NYM), shortstop Wilmer Flores went 4/5 with two home runs, three runs and two RBI. For Salt Lake, third baseman Luis Jimenez hit two home runs, marking three consecutive games in a row that he has left the park, which he attributes to extra work he’s been doing with hitting coach Frankie Matos.
For the Pawtucket Red Sox, Brandon Workman went 5 2/3 innings, striking out eight and giving up one run. For the Toledo MudHens, Kyle Lobstein struck out seven in 5 1/3 shutout innings, allowing five hits and two walks. For Charlotte (CWS), Erik Johnson struck out six in six innings in his first Triple-A start of the season, keeping the Buffalo Bisons off the board with just three hits and one walk. In that same game, Sean Nolin of the Buffalo Bisons kept the Knights off the board in six strong innings, allowing just four hits and no walks in a game that would eventually be decided 1-0 in the 11th inning.
In Double-A Akron, Francisco Lindor hit a triple and a home run, driving in three as part of a 2/4 day. For the Erie Sea Wolves, catcher Ramon Cabrera went 4/4 with two doubles and a home run. Sean Gilmartin struck out eight starting for the New Britain Rock Cats (MIN) in the Eastern League, giving up just one run on three hits and four walks.

In the Texas League, Midland (OAK) first baseman Max Muncy was busy filling up categories of the stat sheet, going 3/4 with a double, a home run, a walk, a stolen base, two runs and four RBI. The Mobile Bay Bears (ARI) got a great start from lefty Andrew Chafin who gave up one run on six hits and two walks with six strikeouts.
In the High-A California League, Seattle Mariners first baseman Patrick Kivelehan went 4/5 with two doubles, two runs scored and four RBI for the High Desert Mavericks. Catcher Jorge Alfaro hit his second home run of the season as part of a 3/4 day with the Myrtle Beach Pelicans in the Carolina League. Ben Lively struck out eight over 6 2/3 innings for Bakersfield (CIN), allowing two runs on six hits and one walk. For the Dodgers’ High-A club in Rancho Cucamonga, Tom Windle threw seven shutout innings, giving up three hits and two walks with seven strikeouts.
For Arizona’s Daniel Palka, a first baseman for the South Bend Silver Hawks, it was a great day that came just short of a cycle, going 4/6 with a triple and a home run and driving in three. Also in the Midwest League, Lake County’s (CLE) Clint Frazier went 3/4 with two doubles and two walks. Kenny Peoples-Walls, a shortstop for the Peoria Chiefs (STL) went 3/4 with three runs scored, two RBI, his first home run of the season and walk. For the Dayton Dragons (CIN), Sal Romano had the day’s high strikeout total (among prospects), K-ing nine batters but giving up four runs in six innings.
