Obviously the Diamondbacks will be looking for younger players and top prospects in order to rebuild the mess that has been made of their ball club. Again this might not be as easy as it sounds. There are teams looking for infield help such as the Oakland A’s or the San Francisco Giants but they have been rumored to be looking elsewhere.

1. A possible candidate to help the Diamondbacks in the outfield could be the Pirates’ Jose Tabata. At only 25-years old, Tabata comes at a cheap price (owed just $11.5 million through 2016, with a trio of team options worth a combined $22.5 million from 2017 to 2019), has plenty of experience playing in the majors and has the potential to improve with time. Seemingly he is exactly the type of player that the Diamondbacks are looking to acquire. He is currently playing for Triple-A Indianapolis.  Tabata hit .289 in 62 games at the big league level with Pirates this season before being sent down to make room for the return of Nick Walker from the disabled list.

2. As for pitching the Phillies, whose season isn’t looking promising, might be interested in dealing right-hander Kyle Kendrick, 29, who is still young and has shown periods of dominance during his seven-year career. His current ERA is 4.22 having pitched 102.1 innings.

3.Another cheap and relatively young pitching option could be the Cubs’ Jason Hammel who, albeit being 31-years of age, has a current ERA of 2.98 on a very poor Cubs team. He could be a nice pick up to help the Diamondbacks ailing rotation.

With the trade deadline still weeks away anything can and probably will still happen but this is a little preview of what could.
