Where they stand so far

As expected this season, the Houston Astros have not done much to win. As of June 29th, their record is 35-47, and they sit in the cellar of the NL West. But, the Astros have started showing some signs of life for the first time in years. Their record is only 4th worst in the league after they have finished last in each of the last three seasons. Young players such as George Springer and Jon Singelton have provided reasons to be excited about the future, and the Astros have got surprisingly nice breakout seasons from starters Dallas Keuchel and Colin McHugh. The club even put up an above .500 mark in the month of May, going 15-14. The Astros aren’t going to compete yet, but they are finally showing some signs of improvement.
