Since the White Sox are most likely still in their rebuilding stages they will be looking for younger players who are showing promise and prospects who are still developing but show potential. Possible acquisition candidates are hard to speculate but here are three players who could possibly be options for the White Sox.

1. The first acquisition I am proposing is highly unlikely but if the Oakland Athletics want to continue on their path to the playoff success they may need to part with top prospect, shortstop Addison Russell. It’s no secret that Billy Beane has no interest in trading Russell but with the way the A’s have been playing this season it could be the season that Beane finally gets his so long awaited World Series Title. If Beane wants to do that the A’s could use a shortstop like Ramirez who can help them win now, not in the future. They could then move Jed Lowrie to second and stop their obvious second base woes. A Russell/Ramirez trade could benefit both teams but the chances are low that Beane will part with Russell.

2. The Yankees’ pitcher Adam Warren might be an option to help the White Sox out as a closer. He’s been used as a starter but has primarily pitched out of the bullpen this season. He’s got a low ERA of 2.70 with 41 strikeouts in 43.1 innings. He is only 25 which is what the White Sox would be looking for and could easily be groomed into a closer.

3. Washington Nationals pitcher Ross Detwiler might be a good option for the White Sox to improve the back end of their starting rotation. He’s been used by the Nationals as both a starter and reliever having his best success in 2012 winning 10 games for the Nats. He’s young at only 28 years old and his best years could be ahead of him.
