So as previously mentioned the Yankees could use a bat, a starter and an infielder. Perhaps they can find an infielder who can also bolster their offense, however, it seems like that is what every other team is looking for this year.

1. The Yankees need a bat. They rank just above or under 20th in the league in all the major batting categories: run differential, home runs, runs driven in, runs scored and slugging percentage. This is not the Yankees we are used to seeing for over the past decade. They need to find a strong, consistent bat to pick up, or maybe two, to be able to make and compete in the post season.

2. The Yankees have suffered some major losses to their starting rotation this season, not unlike a lot of other teams around the league who have been plagued by the Tommy John surgery that is sweeping through Major League Baseball this season. Ivan Nova went down with the now typical torn ulnar collateral ligament, Michael Pineda is out due to back issues and their should-be ace C.C. Sabathia had been out with knee issues. Adding a new starter is critical to the Yankees success.

3. The third change the Yankees need to make is, again like many other teams in the league, looking for infield help, either a shortstop or second baseman. This is going to be difficult because other teams such as Oakland, San Francisco, Chicago White Sox, Seattle and many more are looking to find help for second base. The Yankees may be able to beat out these other teams to get the best, but it won’t be as easy as they are probably used to it being.
