Who could be moved:

1. Elvis Andrus

Moving the high priced shortstop won’t quite be easy, but he’d likely attract some attention if the Rangers were to make him available. There are numerous teams looking for quality players at the position. The mere question is what the cost would be and how much of his remaining salary would Texas pick up.

2. Joakim Soria

While there wouldn’t appear to be an obvious replacement to close out games (with Neftali Feliz still struggling in the minor leagues and Tanner Scheppers on the shelf), moving Soria might be a smart move at this point. Soria has a 2.93 ERA, 0.795 WHIP, and 12.7 K/9 on the season. Relievers are always in demand at the deadline and Soria could be among those that would draw the most attention.

3. Alex Rios

The outfielder is having a solid year at the plate and the Rangers hold an option on him for 2015. The team could easily hold onto him, planning for his inclusion in their lineup next season when many of their injured pieces will be healthy again. Rios could also bring back some value in return so to consider moving him seems hardly out of the question.
