Hunter Pence is headed to the disabled list with wrist tendinitis, per FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal. Pence hasn’t suited up for the Giants since June 2, so the move will likely be retroactive to that point.
Pence’s injury appears to be minor, so San Francisco appears comfortable rolling with rookie Jarrett Parker while he recovers. However, with the Giants just 1.5 games out of first place in the NL West, a move could be made down the line if the injury continues to be an issue.
The Giants already called up Parker to replace Pence earlier in the week, they will call up reliever Mike Broadway from AAA Sacramento to take Pence’s roster spot in the meantime. Broadway had pitched to a 1.35 ERA across 22 appearances this season with the River Cats this season.
