Yankees’ Mason Williams hits first career home run in major league debut

After not hitting a single home run in 201 minor-league at-bats this season, Yankees outfielder Mason Williams got one in his major league debut on Friday against the Baltimore Orioles.

With New York down 5-1 in the top of the fourth inning, Williams took an 0-1 inside fastball to right field for a two-run shot.

Luckily for Williams, fans through the ball back and he’ll have something to put on his mantle for years to come. But he didn’t get to claim a win in his debut, as the Orioles ultimately went on to score six more runs, winning 11-3.
