10:20 EST: Bowden tweets that Olivera is the primary piece going to the Braves.
10:08 EST: The Los Angeles Dodgers are reportedly closing in on a three-team deal that would land them Mat Latos from the Miami Marlins and Alex Wood, Jim Johnson and Jose Peraza from the Atlanta Braves, according to multiple media reports.
The Dodgers were reportedly discussing a deal with the Marlins for Latos and Michael Morse earlier in the day, though several new players and a new team have since gotten involved. ESPN’s Jim Bowden reports that Cuban defector Hector Olivera is involved in the deal, and that the Dodgers would also receive reliever Luis Avilan from the Braves.
It remains unclear whether Morse is still a part of the deal in any capacity, and it’s also unclear what the Dodgers will be sending each team in return. Olivera is reportedly in the mix, presumably going to Atlanta, and pitcher Jeff Brigham was mentioned this morning as a candidate to potentially go to Miami. But with so much changing, it’s hard to tell whether Brigham remains a factor.
