Trevor Story is best known for the start he got off to at the beginning of the season, hitting 7 home runs in the first week of the season. That isn’t all he has done this season. Together with Nolan Arenado, he is part of one of the best left sides of the infield in all of the MLB. His defense has been pretty good, but his offense has been great.

So far in 2016 he is hitting .259/.327/.535 with 19 home runs and 50 batted in. However, his wRC+ is not on the same level as the rest of the ballot as it sits barely above average with 109. Story will likely get some voting attention because his name was in the media a lot during the first week of the season.

Trevor Story is still a very good young shortstop, and he even ranked second in fan voting for the starting spot. However, his numbers don’t quite match up with the rest of the guys on this ballot. He’s a talented young player who will have plenty of seasons in the future where he makes the All-Star team. I do not think the rookie power hitter makes it this season, but he is still having quite a rookie year.
