(1) Gincarlo Stanton 8/6/16

This list would not have come to fruition if it had not been for this man and his rampant abuse and disdain for baseballs all across the league. Stanton has been the bane of all pitchers that he has faced. No matter what he does, he hits the ball hard. He has hit the seven hardest balls this season, as recorded by StatCast with his hardest hit clocking in at 126 MPH.

This isn’t a slide show of hardest hit balls though, this is about longest homerun and Stanton owns that title of the StatCast era with a long ball that traveled 503 feet through the mid-summer air of Coors Field. The ball came off of Stanton’s bat at a ridiculous launch angle of 18.3 degrees. With this launch angle the ball only got about 73 feet off the ground. That’s as close as a ball can come to being a line drive while still leaving the field of play.

Next: Could the Marlins sign A-Rod?

This homerun came in the fifth inning of the Marlins contest against the Rockies. It was Stanton’s 23 on the year. It came with two outs in the inning. Unfortunately, Stanton’s show of power would prove not enough to get the Marlins over the hump. The fish would lose the game by a score of 12-6.
