MLB World Series Odds 2016 Update: Rangers, Indians, Giants Surging
The 2016 MLB World Series odds have changed a bit since March, and three long shot teams are now looking to make some serious noise down the September stretch.
The latest updated odds to win the 2016 World Series still have the Chicago Cubs as the team to beat in this year’s Fall Classic. The Cubbies have been listed as the favorites since February at most Las Vegas sports books – and so far they have lived up to the hype. However, a few new teams have moved up the odds board of late as they have caught fire since the All-Star break.
First and foremost are the Texas Rangers. The Rangers added Jonathan Lucroy and Carlos Beltran to an already powerful lineup, and are 7-3 over their last 10 games. More importantly, they have strengthened their team for a serious postseason run. The Rangers were listed at 18-1 on April 11, but have now moved to 10-1.

The other two teams that have jumped up the odds board the most since April are the Indians and Giants.
Cleveland has shown that you don’t need a lineup of “big name players” to have a great team. Manager Terry Francona has the Tribe in first place, with solid pitching, timely hitting and great chemistry. These guys have adopted a strong “family” attitude, and so far it is working well. Cleveland started the season with 20-1 odds, but are now listed as one of the top teams to beat in the AL at 5-1.
The San Francisco Giants may be skidding a bit, but they are still getting a lot of love from Vegas faithful. They also opened at 20-1 back in April, however, they are now listed at 7-1, which is 4th best overall. MLB fans know one thing when it comes to the Giants, and that is that you can never count them out of any postseason run – especially in even numbered years! The Giants won the World Series in 2010, 2012 and 2014, and if that trend holds they could be hoisting yet another trophy at the end of this season.
