Add the Toronto Blue Jays to the Tim Tebow interest column.

With the NFL season beginning today, we might as well talk about a former football player. Tim Tebow was one of the best college football players of all time. The “unstoppable force of competitive nature” led the Denver Broncos to a Wild Card victory a few seasons ago.

After falling out of favor with the Broncos and the entire NFL, he’s decided to give baseball a try. Tebow had his tryout in front of scouts last week and is awaiting his fate.

We knew the Atlanta Braves had some interest, but now it looks like we can add the Toronto Blue Jays to the mix:

That’s right folks. Apparently eight teams are interested in his services. Honestly, why not?

Why not take a chance on him? It’s not going to cost a ton. If he flops, you cut him and move on, but you might as well give him a chance.

It would be in Tebow’s best interest to sign as soon as possible. Know where you are going. Go to instructional league and winter ball and get reps. Just like a quarterback, a hitter needs reps, especially one who hasn’t faced competitive pitching in a decade.

The whole narrative of him possibly taking away playing time from other prospects is a joke. Everyone has organizational minor leaguers, guys who are never going to make the majors but still have a job in baseball.

Don’t get it wrong, the likelihood of Tebow roaming a major league outfield is up there with the Cleveland Browns winning the Super Bowl this year. However, if you’re the GM of a club and one of your top scouts likes what he sees, why not? If it pans out, you look like a genius. If it doesn’t, so what? Just cut him and move on like organizations do with minor leaguers all the time.

Besides, if you bring Tebow in, all he does is win.
