Justin Turner (Third Base)

Speaking of the Mets, former Met Justin Turner is also available. Since joining the Dodgers, Turner has established himself as one of the best offensive infielders in baseball. Turner has gotten better by the year, reaching new heights in 2016 on the strength of 27 home runs and 90 runs batted-in.

Offensively, Turner is worthy of a bigger contract. However, teams also need to consider other options on where to put Turner, as he has experience all over the infield. Turner can be an asset at multiple positions, and if he continues his offensive pace, he will definitely be one to watch.

Since joining the Dodgers, Turner’s batting average numbers have dropped. However, his power numbers have increased drastically, going from hitting seven home runs in 2014 to hitting 27 in 2016. In 2016, Turner set career-highs in games played, plate appearances, runs scored, hits, doubles, triples, home runs, runs batted-in, walks, slugging percentage, and total bases.

With his offensive production increasing, Turner is definitely worthy of a bigger contract. Turner is now in the prime of his career, and now may be the time to strike a big deal. With his defensive flexibility, Turner can be a good option for several teams, and a good boost to the lineup.
