The always ambitious Magic Johnson spoke highly of his hometown Los Angeles Dodgers, guaranteeing a World Series Victory in Chavez Ravine.

Owners of baseball’s best record at 72-31, the Los Angeles Dodgers are feeling pretty good about themselves.

That’s not to mention their 11-2 record in their last 13 games and their 39-10 record in their last 49 games, either.

On the cusp of the team’s dominance, Los Angeles Lakers legend and Dodgers team partner Magic Johnson had quite the prediction for his team.

While speaking to Bill Shaikin of the LA Times, Johnson said, “The Dodgers are going to win the World Series this year, this is our year.”

That’s quite the statement with nearly two months to go in the year.

However, Johnson’s comments certainly are warranted. His team has been flat out incredible this year.

The offense has been explosive, with the game’s top run differential of +183 and a team SLG% of .457, third in the sport.

The team is widely considered to be one of the best team’s in the sport and is expected to go all-in for a chance at the World Series this season, especially in a down year for the Chicago Cubs.

This isn’t the first time that Johnson has delivered a hot take, as he recently spoke very highly of recent NBA draft pick Lonzo Ball.

“I’m going to put a little pressure on you right now,” Johnson said to Lonzo Ball. “You look to your right, there’s some jerseys hanging on that wall. We expect a Ball jersey hanging up there one day, all right? Good

In addition to these comments, Johnson called Ball the “new face of the Lakers.” So, it’s safe to say Johnson doesn’t shy away from headline-grabbing hot takes.

His expectations with the Dodgers might be a bit more realistic, though, as the team has blown away the competition this season, with one of the game’s top offenses.

Cody Bellinger is an MVP candidate, Clayton Kershaw (although injured) has been graceful once again, and the standings are definitely in their favor.

What’s stopping this team from winning it all this year? Apparently to Magic, nothing.
