The Minnesota Twins are a late entrant in the Promotion of the Year race, but they may have won the 2017 season. Get ready for a Big Sexy Time as they honor Bartolo Colon on September 15.
Big Sexy Time appeared to be drawing to a close. Bartolo Colon had struggled with the Atlanta Braves, his steady diet of fastballs and hot dogs no longer getting batters out. The rotund pitcher was released on July 4 with a 2-8 record and a 8.14 ERA. Colon just did not have anything left.
Desperate for pitching, he was signed by the Minnesota Twins just three days later. Returning to the majors, Colon has looked like his former self, posting a 3.94 ERA, albeit with a relatively high 1.411 WHiP. The lovable pitcher was back, and ready to get batters out. Naturally, the Twins are wanting to take advantage, and are doing so with one of the best promotions of the season.

With Colon set to face the Toronto Blue Jays on September 15, the Twins are hosting Big Sexy Night. With the purchase of a special ticket package, fans will get a special Big Sexy Twins shirt, showing Colon about to release the ball on the front.
This promotion has some excellent potential. Imagine music from Barry White, Marvin Gaye, or Prince between innings. Set up a wine bar, and maybe have a few tables with candles and someone playing a violin. A designated date section for people to enjoy the game and each other’s company. Get some flower vendors at the park. There are plenty of ways that this promotion could get even better. And, possibly,, lead to a spike in infants in the Minnesota area being named Bartolo.
