MLB: Keith Hernandez lost his phone inside Dodger Stadium
Former MLB World Series champion and MVP Keith Hernandez lost his cell phone amongst the crowd at Dodger Stadium during Game 2.
Fox baseball analyst Keith Hernandez was on air breaking down the thrilling World Series Game 2 between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Houston Astros when his mind stayed elsewhere. Hernandez had misplaced his cell phone amongst the fans at Dodger Stadium.
Many of you can relate, where I’m sure you’ve misplaced your cell phone device at an inopportune time. But, I doubt many of you have done it on this big of a stage.
Fox host Kevin Burkhardt even stopped the FS1 postgame show to inform the world that Hernandez’s phone had gone missing. The network sent a search and rescue relief crew in efforts to retrieve the lost device, while also asking for help from the audience tuning in:
“If you found Keith’s cell phone, call (1-800) 555-HELP.”
Hernandez then added:
“Oh man, it’s not gonna be there. I left it out in center field. It’s not there.”

“We’ve all been there, just maybe not on national TV during the World Series.”
The FS1 stage manager emerged with the misplaced phone, fulfilling his destiny as a personal hero for Hernandez.
I’ve always appreciated the humor of Hernandez, going back to his days as a guest star on the classic show Seinfeld. He played the role of himself, but was in rare form during that episode, getting into an altercation with Kramer and Newman.
That story arc is one of the all-time classic ones’s not only for the highly acclaimed show but in sitcom history. Hernandez was a key part of the success of those episodes, showing that his range extended beyond first base.
