Houston Astros World Series champion Jose Altuve displays that he is MVP worthy off the field as well.

Jose Altuve and the Houston Astros have been celebrating in style since they earned their first World Series championship in franchise history. Their fellow football team, the Houston Texans also had aspirations of their first Super Bowl title of their own.

However, those dreams are likely shattered, starting with the season-ending injury to star player J.J. Watt. Last Thursday, rookie sensation Deshawn Watson went down with an injury of his own, all but putting the finishing touches on the once-promising campaign.

J.J. Watt has always been a man of character and zeal, meaning much not only to his teammates but to the city of Houston itself.

Jose Altuve realized that truth, when he reached out to the sidelined Watt, with a gesture that spoke volumes.

"“From one H-Town brother to another, thanks for all you’ve done this year for the city we call home.Your support for all things Houston – from hurricane relief, to being our number one fan – has been nothing short of incredible. So I hope you’ll accept this fine whiskey gift I gave all my teammates following our championship win because to me, you’re absolutely part of the squad.”"

Altuve gave Watt as he did with his World Champion Houston Astro teammates, a bottle of some expensive, “fine whiskey,” showing his condolences to the injured Houston Texans’ star.

On the field, Altuve performed at an elite level even exceeding his high expectations, emerging as the front-runner for American League MVP.

He also knows what J.J. Watt means to the city as well, displaying that actions speak louder than words. What’s even as impressive is the fact that Altuve intended to keep this between he and Watt, by J.J. was the one who revealed this act on Twitter.

Watt has even expressed that he is starting a fundraiser for hurricane relief in the city of Houston, further proving his significance to the state of Texas.
