What about the all-time MLB Hall of Fame greats connected with PEDs?

Pitchers Whitey Ford and Gaylord Perry doctored baseballs. Another pitcher, Pud Galvin, ingested testosterone drained from the testicles of a monkey.

Apparently, that was a thing then because Babe Ruth is alleged to have injected himself with an extract from a sheep’s testicles. As Joe Sheehan tweeted in response to Morgan’s letter, “Players have used illegal substances to play better throughout history.”

Along with the hypocrisy of drawing a self-serving distinction between amphetamines and steroids, Morgan himself has pushed for MLB to reconsider Pete Rose’s ban on gambling on baseball. He believes Rose belongs in the Hall of Fame.

Rose broke the rule against gambling on baseball that is posted in every clubhouse in the league, yet Morgan is willing to allow him in the MLB Hall of Fame that he describes as a sacred place.

The hypocrisy increases when you realize that the commissioner of baseball during the high-offense era (that Morgan likes to call the Steroid Era) is in the Hall of Fame, as are managers who won the World Series with players who used steroids.

Hello, Bud Selig and Tony LaRussa. Why do they get a pass? Did they really not know what the players were doing?
