Giancarlo Stanton rumors: Meets with both Cardinals, Giants

MIAMI, FL - SEPTEMBER 20: Giancarlo Stanton
MIAMI, FL - SEPTEMBER 20: Giancarlo Stanton

Giancarlo Stanton rumors surface that the NL MVP met with both the St. Louis Cardinals and San Francisco Giants over the past few days.

Miami Marlins Giancarlo Stanton rumors have reached a new level, with the slugger reportedly in person during trade talks over the past few days.

In Los Angeles, Giancarlo Stanton rumors surfaced that he was actually in the room during talks with both the St. Louis Cardinals and San Francisco Giants, according to his agent Joel Wolfe.

Stanton and representatives from the Miami Marlins sat down with the St. Louis Cardinals, with their General Manager Michael Girsch among the bunch.

San Francisco General Manager Bobby Evans wouldn’t allow the Cardinals to one-up him, who was also present when his team met with the Marlins and Giancarlo Stanton.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are also in the running, which now looks like a three-team race for Giancarlo Stanton and his MVP talents.

Who has the best chance to land Stanton? What are the Miami Marlins looking to get out of the deal?

There must be some rhyme or reason for trading this once in a lifetime player, one who hit 59 long bombs in 2017, tied for ninth most in MLB history, with Babe Ruth in single-season home run totals.

Of this bunch, I believe the St. Louis Cardinals have the most to offer the Miami Marlins.

With their array of young talent and money to spend, the Marlins would love to acquire the plethora of gems within the Cardinals farm system.

As long as the St. Louis Cardinals are willing to pick up most of the contract’s tab, which totals $295 million.

If the St. Louis Cardinals can match that reported $250 asking price, they could have a real shot at acquiring him.

The Miami Marlins need to take their time and milk these suitors for all they are worth. The more these Giancarlo Stanton rumors heat up, the more pressure it puts on these three teams to give into the “demands” of the Marlins, who sit in a real position of power.

Whoever wants Giancarlo Stanton will have to go all in, risking it all in the process.
