Miami Marlins CEO and part owner, Derek Jeter, has some explaining to do with the recent Giancarlo Stanton trade to the New York Yankees.

The Evil Empire is back, with their secret agent — I mean former face of the New York Yankees franchise, Derek Jeter as the main culprit.

The Miami Marlins traded the 2017 NL MVP Giancarlo Stanton and got next to nothing in return.

In fact, they still have to pay $30 million of the $295 million guaranteed of Stanton’s contract, also.

The New York Yankees gave up their starting second baseman Starlin Castro, Jorge Guzman, and Jose Devers — prospects who are not of much value.

MLB fanbases across the globe chimed in, with many showing their displeasure, none more upset than this guy — minor language warning, but sums up the Giancarlo Stanton trade perfectly.

He makes a good point on the Commissioner just standing by and allowing this unbalanced trade to go down. We might as well not have an MLB Commissioner if trades like these are allowed. Laissez-faire — ask Bud Selig about this philosophy.

Maybe Derek Jeter isn’t done shipping out the elite talent of the Miami Marlins to the New York Yankees.

When Derek Jeter is done with the Miami Marlins, they will pretty much be the Cleveland Indians from the beginning of the film, Major League.

Returning to the New York Yankees would not be surprising at all and at least would explain the ludicrousness of this transaction by the Miami Marlins.

He may have his sights set on the crown jewels of the Los Angeles Angels next, in Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout.

Let’s hope this new nickname for Derek Jeter sticks; it’s perfect.

Michael Baumann of The Ringer sums up the trade in a nutshell beautifully.

"“This is not a baseball trade. This is a liquidation of assets.”"

Instead of being a lovable bunch of young, homegrown superstars, the New York Yankees are back to being public enemy numero uno.

Making that deal for Giancarlo Stanton is taking the easy path back to the World Series.

No doubt the St. Louis Cardinals and their fans will take offense, who will show their displeasure of Stanton when the New York Yankees next visit Bush Stadium.

Remember, Stanton only wanted to play for a “winning” franchise.

Let’s not mention the classless and despicable way he handled the firing of a scout dying of cancer to put the icing on the cake.

So now, the New York Yankees are back to being the Evil Empire of times past, a branding that had finally dissipated. Well, that was fun while it lasted. May the real New York Yankees, please stand up.

Stay classy, Derek Jeter. The New York faithful are proud of you.
