Major League Baseball embraces the Force, with the latest Star Wars release, The Last Jedi.

Major League Baseball is strong with the Force, fully embracing the latest Star Wars installment, The Last Jedi.

Baseball and the Force mix well, providing fans with fun experiences over the years, especially with Star Wars night at the ballpark in Major League Baseball parks across the galaxy.

For those of you who have been living under a rock on Dagobah — you Star Wars fans will understand — here’s what the hype is all about for The Last Jedi.

MLB teams are looking for an edge for the 2018 season, so why not call upon the power of the Force to guide them?

Star Wars nights for 2018 MLB parks were recently announced, with many teams getting in on some of the action

Busch Stadium consistently provides an epic time for fans of both Major League Baseball and a galaxy far, far away.

The San Francisco Giants are joining in on the fun, embracing their inner Jedi as well.

The Force is no stranger to the San Diego Padres, who used Yoda and Star Wars as inspiration a few years back, continuing the trend into 2018.

During the 2010 season, the Force was strong with the Padres, who adopted Jedi principles to their clubhouse. Radio talk show legend Jim Rome ventured into a galaxy far, far away, during his talk show The Jungle over seven years ago, but the legend of his Yoda rant lives on.

David Eckstein claimed Yoda for the Padres, but their divisional rival the Los Angeles Dodgers fought back with the Dark Side, claiming the Jedi Master for themselves.

"Eckstein: He just works here, but he’s from San Diego."

More from Call to the Pen

The Force is still strong with Eckstein, who is married to a former Jedi in Ahsoka Tano aka Her Universe, Ashley Eckstein.

Unfortunately, the Force shifted for the Los Angeles Dodgers who beat out the San Diego Padres by a slim two games for the 2010 NL West crown

Thankfully for all teams heading into 2018, the Force has yet to choose a side for ambitious World Series aspiring teams.

With most MLB squads looking for pitching, a power bat, or even the right manager, maybe their pursuits should follow down a different path.

Maybe the likes of Luke Skywalker, Yoda, or even Darth Vader will be what puts teams over the top next season. But, just in case, MLB teams might want to load their rosters with elite talent.
