Texas Ranger pitcher Cole Hamels donates his Missouri mansion to Camp Barnabas in Missouri.

Christmas has arrived early for those at Camp Barnabas in Missouri, with Texas Rangers ace Cole Hamels embracing his inner Santa Claus.

The former Philadelphia Phillies All-Star and 2008 World Series champion/MVP — now Texas Rangers hurler — is looking to relocate to the Dallas/Fort Worth area, so his dream home in Missouri went on the market.

The only problem is they own a beautiful home in Southwest Missouri, one with much to offer aspiring buyers.

"Camp Barnabas offers camping experiences to people with special needs and chronic illnesses, along with their siblings. The program exists to offer life-changing experiences to campers and to the people who serve them."

Instead, Cole Hamels and his wife Heidi donated the mansion to a local youth camp (Camp Barnabas) with all of its assets — including 10 bedrooms, 13 full bathrooms and six half bathrooms and 100 acres of beauty surrounding Table Rock Lake, located in Reeds Springs, Missouri, near Branson.

Cole Hamels’ wife, Heidi, was born and raised in Buffalo, Missouri, just a short trip down Highway 65 through the Ozarks beauty that only Southwest Missouri provides.

The kind gesture of the Hamels truly hits home. Literally, for the kind couple.

Hamels explains his reasoning for giving away such a luxurious home instead of making major bank on it.
