The Texas Rangers spent the season making investments in repairing and improving their pitching. However, while the pitching is the important thing they had to work on this off-season, the Rangers are also hoping that this season, the hitting improves significantly.
Last season, hitting was not great for the Texas Rangers. The club’s batting average of .244 put them 26th in the league. They finished 27th in hits, and they struck out of nearly 1,500 times, placing them fourth in the league. On a positive note, the Rangers finished last season third in the league in home runs with 237, as well as ninth in scoring runs.
Joey Gallo led the club in homers last season, hitting 41, finishing 5th in the league, and third in the American League. Rougned Odor fell into a slump, finishing with a .204 batting average, putting him second to last at the bottom of the American League. Elvis Andrus finished with 191 hits, finishing sixth in the league and third in the American League. Adrian Beltre, despite missing time with injuries, was able to break a few records and prove to us he still has his tremendous hitting power.

Now onto this season. The Rangers are looking to return to their winning ways. For that to happen, they need to be effective on pitching, as well as hitting. They’ve got talent and potential to be in the top ten on offense. The problem is that last year; there was serious lack of concentration and mentality around the club, which is what led to a downward spiral, which ultimately led their mediocrity. More than half of the lineup had potential. So which Ranger can blast the most homers this season?
Joey Gallo is certainly capable of doing so, as is Rougned Odor, Adrian Beltre, and even Elvis Andrus. They’re all capable of blasting home runs left and right. A healthy Beltre is more than capable of hitting the most homers on the team despite his age.

As far as who’ll lead the club in homers, it’s a prediction that honestly can’t be made. In other words, we’ll just have to wait and see.
