Ronald Guzman is a 1B minor league prospect in the Texas Rangers farm system. He’s been part of the organization since 2011. He was brought along with fellow Dominican Nomar Mazara. Guzman has been honing his craft and has been showing promise. His time to play in the majors has come.

We can certainly expect Ronald Guzman to start this season in AAA Round Rock. However, this may be the year Guzman finally earns his first promotion to the majors. Texas Rangers fans cannot wait for Guzman to be promoted to the main roster.

Guzman is listed as the #8 prospect in the Rangers organization. Many believe he’s the future star first baseman of the Rangers. The 23-year-old is making impressions. He’s been doing so since his arrival in 2011.

Guzman will need to make an impact this spring training to prove he’s ready to play in the majors. It’s based on results produced on the field.

The future certainly looks bright for the very talented prospect. He’s come a long way from a journey that began when he was sixteen years of age.

Critics look at him as a player that can blast at least 20 homers per season and finishing with a batting average in the .280. Last year, Guzman had a batting average of .320 at one point. Guzman explained that when he was beginning to play baseball as a kid, his most significant struggle was being able to hit the ball. Looks like he’s dedicated himself to building up a reliable power to knock balls out of a park. The Texas Rangers would love to see him slug balls out of the field left and right.

Guzman’s off a bit of a slow start this spring training, though so far he’s hit two doubles. However, he’s struck out four times. There’s still two months of spring training left, so he’s got plenty of time to shake off the rust and be ready.
