Albert Belle makes a mockery of MLB Spring training by ‘exposing’ himself
Former MLB star Albert Belle is arrested at Spring training after “exposing” himself and driving under the influence of alcohol.
Former Cleveland Indians All-Star Albert Belle is in the news, once again for all the wrong reasons, after an arrest in Scottsdale, Arizona near the location of Spring training MLB baseball facilities.
Belle’s (most recent) rap sheet includes:
- Two counts of indecent exposure
- One count of DUI (using liquor, drugs or vapors)
- One count of Extreme DUI (BAC of .08 or more)

"According to a statement from police that was filed as part of court documents obtained by The Arizona Republic on Monday, Belle was arrested outside a Phoenix soccer stadium for allegedly urinating next to a parked car and shaking his genitals at the car’s owner and his 15-year-old daughter."

This behavior is nothing new for Belle, according to YahooSports.com. “Joey” Belle, which he was known for in the early part of a career, entered alcohol abuse treatment in 1990 — to no avail.
In 1994, he was suspended for using a corked baseball bat — embracing his inner Sammy Sosa — but at least he didn’t forget how to speak English in the process as good ole Sammy did.

In a 1996 contest with the Milwaukee Brewers, Albert Belle levels Fernando Vina, breaking up a double-play. In that same year, Belle made national headlines again, after (allegedly) chasing down a group of teenagers during a Halloween fiasco.
Ten years later, Belle pleaded guilty to charges of stalking his former girlfriend — spending 90 days in jail for the offense. For one reason or another, he just couldn’t keep himself out of trouble.
Since retiring from MLB in 2000, Belle’s kept relatively quiet and stayed away from the game of baseball — until now. It’s unknown why Belle was in attendance in Scottsdale, Arizona for Spring training action.
Maybe he was reminiscing about times past, of his glory days. Or, perhaps he REALLY needed to use the restroom, and the group who stumbled upon him were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Fortunately, no one’s seriously injured during the altercation.
