St. Louis Cardinals: Tommy Pham does as he pleases and MLB’s better for it

Tommy Pham recently expressed his displeasure with the St. Louis Cardinals organization from last season, and boy is it a doozy.

2017 was a dream season for Tommy Pham, who made the most out of his opportunity with the St. Louis Cardinals. That dream nearly ended as a nightmare, with Pham recently revealing to Jack Dicky of Sports Illustrated that he almost gave up on the organization before his eventual promotion in 2017.

In 2015, Pham began the season in the big leagues, but an oblique injury sidelined his progress. The 2016 campaign kicked off with Pham’s demotion to Triple-A Memphis, a decision that sticks with him to this very day.

Pham did not hold back his thoughts on the matter, in the slightest.

"“I’m hitting like .400. The big league team was 3–9, and all three outfielders were hitting .200… And I’m still balling! So finally I said, They’re not gonna f—–’ call me up, f— it, and I zoned out in Triple A. Every day I was just like, F— this.”"

Imagine if Pham wasn’t in the lineup after airing his grievances?

Pham does know that Festivus isn’t until December, right? Meanwhile, Pham continues to display his “feats of strength,” that would make even Frank Costanza proud.

Who can blame the guy for being frustrated? Honestly, I appreciate Pham’s transparency.  However, other St. Louis Cardinals fans did not, who expressed their displeasure — in Tommy Pham.

Is it arrogance, or brutal honesty?

Speaking one’s mind doesn’t often sit well with others, but I doubt Pham even cares.

Others came to Pham’s defense.

Boy, did he ever back up his claims of greatness?

Evidently, Pham still doesn’t give a “you know what,” expressing this very attitude during Opening Day weekend in New York.

“I’m the best mother—— on this team, and you guys don’t even know it.”

Unlike Tommy Pham’s eyesight, you’re seeing this clearly. He’s checking his phone during an MLB game, while the ball is live. This is gold, Jerry. GOLD.

While other Cardinals “star” prospects struggled in MLB, Pham may have wasted away much of his prime Triple-A Memphis, and that’s a shame. He’s proven that he’s not only the best overall player on the St. Louis Cardinals roster but one of the best players in all of MLB.

Even though Pham logged just 128  MLB games in 2017, he nearly finished in the top 10 in NL MVP voting. Now, Pham is not looking back, embracing his newfound stardom by expressing himself.

On the day this Sports Illustrated article went viral, Pham displayed his greatness in every single facet of the game of baseball. Talk about walking the walk after talking the talk!

Tommy Pham has more than paid his dues, and now he’s earned the right say whatever he pleases. This is Pham’s world, and we are along for the ride. Strap in, because things may get a little bit bumpy, with baseball paradise now tainted a bit.
