Philadelphia Phillies hurler Pat Neshek adds to his elite collector’s arsenal, getting his hands on rare Shohei Ohtani item.

Pat Neshek of the Philadelphia Phillies has a lot of time on his hands after an early season injury landed him on the Disabled List. The hurler is making good use of his time off, venturing into his MLB collecting endeavors — which is extravagant. Just days after receiving bad news, Neshek was greeted with tidings of great joy — receiving a brand-new Shohei Ohtani card to add to his collection.

It’s not just any baseball card, but only one of 69 in circulation which appears to be signed by Shohei Ohtani himself.

In his first week of MLB action with the Los Angeles Angels, Shohei Ohtani is living up to all of the hype, and then some — smashing mammoth home runs and nearly tossing a perfect game on the mound. You would say this baseball card is in high-demand.

In his excitement, he placed the rare find upside down in its new protective covering — revealing his child-like love for the game (of collecting).

Dude. Why are you selling this beauty of a baseball card? Maybe he’s doing what a good son is supposed to do; allowing his dad to cash in on this unique find. According to Pete Blackburn of CBS Sports MLB,  Ohtani’s autographed memorabilia is worth nearly $5,000 and growing.

Neshek’s collection is still in great shape without the Ohtani gem, and evidently still lacking the Zach Greinke item to his stash as well — who refused to sign a card for him last season.

On the flipside, Neshek will sign for anyone, giving out his shipping address to back up his talk. Speaking of his place of residence, MTV cribs need to do an episode feature Neshek and his incredible collection.

With week one of the MLB season in the books, Shohei Ohtani is showing flashes that he may indeed be the next Babe Ruth, which he was known as in Japan. Not only are the Los Angeles Angels true contenders with Ohtani, but are the most fun team to watch in all of baseball.

If you happen to get your hands on a Shohei Ohtani MLB card, make sure he signs it and do not sell it — unless you have duplicates. We could have a once in a lifetime player here, folks.
