According to MLB rumors, the New York Yankees, among other MLB postseason hopefuls, are looking to make some noise before the MLB trade deadline. Buckle up, folks!

MLB fans, get your popcorn and your sodas ready, the moves before the trade deadline are going to be epic. Don’t take my word for it, but these MLB rumors are from executives from both the National League and American League.

Three teams are looking to make some noise and add to their already potent rosters. Of course, the New York Yankees, who are never shy about shopping around. The New York Mets, who are looking to add to a roster that is close to legitimately contending.

Also, the surprising Philadelphia Phillies, who are looking to keep pace with the Atlanta Braves and hold off the surging Washington Nationals.

One executive had this to say about what we can expect to see when trades heat up this summer, with NJSports.com getting the inside scoop:

"“Teams are already kind of sniffing around. The teams out of contention, they may not be actively looking to make deals yet, but they’re definitely gauging the market already.”"

That’s code or ebonics for, “we’re looking to trade, but you’re going to have to pay dearly.” A prime example is Manny Machado, who is a free agent next season, but teams may pay an expensive rental if they are willing to pay the price.

Basing off of how 2017 went down with half-season rentals, it seems like that trend will continue in 2018 — which is exciting for MLB fans.

"“Look at what Jay Bruce and J.D. Martinez got last year; there weren’t huge markets or huge returns for them. So if you’re a potential seller, are you inclined to move quickly because you think there’s a finite number of good prospects that will be traded at the Deadline? Or are you inclined to wait, because aside from getting a windfall for someone like Manny Machado.”"

If teams like the Baltimore Orioles (Manny Machado) or Miami Marlins (J.T. Realmuto) are wise, they will ransack the farm system of those suitors wanting the service of their best players.

It’s trying to find that balance of pulling the trigger too soon, or waiting too long and having the value go down.

The best way to approach it is doing your homework and seeing what teams are desperate at each position. The New York Yankees are undoubtedly eyeing more starting pitching and a more potent bat at third base.

The New York Mets are reeling from injuries to Jacob deGroom and could use more firepower within their lineup also.

Meanwhile, the Philadelphia Phillies have three teams in the NL East fighting for one (maybe two) spots and could make moves to cover their assets. Starting soon, things could get wild and that’s a great thing for MLB.

For now, all we can do is speculate with these MLB rumors, but based upon what’ rumbling among the MLB executives; it’s going to be a wild ride. Hang on to your hats and glasses, folks!
