Wednesday AAA Standouts

It’s near impossible to have a better day at the plate than Ronny Rodriguez had on Wednesday for Toledo. Rodriguez hit for the cycle, going 5-6, scoring 4 runs and driving in 5, and he even added a 2nd home run to the cycle.

Pulled with just one out left in the game, Cole Irvin pitched a tremendous outing on Wednesday for Lehigh Valley, going 8 2/3 scoreless innings, allowing 4 hits and a walk, striking out 6

As injuries mount in St. Louis, the excellent work of Dakota Hudson will eventually get him a call to the big leagues. He’s scheduled Thursday to take the mound for Memphis on the road in New Orleans, bringing a 6-1 record and 2.30 ERA on the season into the game.

Richie Martin had a fun game to watch in Wednesday for Midland as he went 3-4 with a double and a walk, driving in a run and stealing three bases, driving pitchers nuts throughout the game.

Birmingham’s Dane Dunning has had some up and down this season for the Barons, but his performance on Wednesday was very consistently good. Dunning went 7 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits and no walks, striking out 9.
