New York Yankees starter Luis Severino picked up his 9th win on the season, Giancarlo Stanton got some revenge, and more in today’s Relief Roundup

At Call to the Pen, we want to ensure every MLB team is getting coverage, and that you’re well-informed as the reader! As part of that, we will be including a daily piece into our collection with all of the night’s scores in the major leagues, the top performers in the minors, the minor league schedules, and a bit of history/birthdays at the very end.

Without further adieu, let’s begin!

MLB Scores

New York Yankees 7, Detroit Tigers 4 in Detroit, Game 1 – Luis Severino was strong in picking up his 9th win and the Yankees offense got a 6-run explosion in the 4th inning to ice the game in Game 1 Monday.

Detroit Tigers 4, New York Yankees 2 in Detroit, Game 2 – The Tigers offense jumped out on Domingo German in game 2 of the doubleheader, and Mike Fiers kept Yankees bats at bay for much of the game as the Tigers got the doubleheader split, in spite of a monstrous home run by Giancarlo Stanton after an early HBP from Fiers.

Los Angeles Angels 9, Kansas City Royals 6 in Los Angeles – The Royals came out hard on Angels pitching, but the Angels offense was able to take advantage of the Royals bullpen for 7 runs from the 5th inning on to take the win.

San Francisco Giants 10, Arizona Diamondbacks 3 in San Francisco – The Giants put up 7 runs on Arizona starter Zach Godley in the bottom of the 4th, and they coasted from there to a home win to bring them back to .500.

San Diego Padres 11, Atlanta Braves 4 in San Diego – Julio Teheran’s velocity was off on the night, and Padres hitters took advantage in a 7-run 5th inning to seal the win.

Monday Standouts

This really should be the “non-Mike Trout” division as he could be a good candidate here every day. On Monday, he went 3-4 with 3 runs scored and 2 RBI without even garnering an extra base hit. He also drew a walk.

Luis Severino picked up his 9th win with forte on Monday, going 8 innings, allowing 2 runs (1 earned) on 4 hits and no walks, striking out 10 Tigers to give the Yankees the Game 1 win in their Monday doubleheader.
