Eight teams have now punched their ticket to the NCAA Baseball College World Series, after winning their respective Super Regionals — including the Texas Longhorns who return after a “long” absence.
The NCAA Baseball College World Series tournament has been a wild ride, thus far. Mississippi State has climbed from the depths of the first round loser’s bracket and is now heading to Omaha and the College World Series.
Tennessee Tech’s magical run falls short, after earning their first NCAA Baseball Super Regionals appearance in school history.
The Washington Huskies made history of their own out of the PAC-12 join their counterparts Oregon State in Omaha, for the first time, while the Texas Longhorns will appear for a record 36th time. Yes, 36th — that is no typo. What a way to honor the late great NCAA Baseball coach Augie Garrido, the NCAA Baseball leader in career wins.
Six of the eight NCAA Super Regionals are went down to the deciding game, with the winners of each bracket heading to the promised land of the College World Series.
Before we get to the teams joining Texas, Mississippi State, Oregon State, and Washington in Omaha at the NCAA Baseball College World Series, let’s look at the rounds preceding it and how we got here, shall we?
Winners of the Regionals are paired up in a best of three series. The highest seed of the two host. If two one-seeds advance, the team with the National seed designations hosts.

It’s nearly identical to the NCAA Baseball Regionals with four teams in each side of the bracket.
Double-elimination format
The winner of each four-team bracket advances to the College World Series finals.
The NCAA Baseball College World Series champ is determined with a best two out of three series.
