The trade deadline is arguably the most fun time of the year excluding the postseason for baseball fans. This year, there are too many potential stories to count. But what will the NL Central be doing in June and July?

NL Central trade possibilities 

It’s almost that time of year again. June and July can be the months where front offices can make or break their team and their reputation. Fans are pining to get angry about their favorite players being traded for prospects, or their most promising prospects being dealt for washed up veterans.

It truly is a magical type of year. How might the NL Central change in coming weeks?

When you’re looking at playoff teams in the Central, you’re probably looking at three teams: The Milwaukee Brewers, the St. Louis Cardinals, and the Chicago Cubs. The Pittsburgh Pirates looked like they might play spoiler early, but have since regressed.

So those three would be your buyers; their intentions on the trade market should be to add that piece that’ll put them ahead of their rivals.

The Cincinnati Reds and the Pittsburgh Pirates, meanwhile, are bound to be sellers—teams looking to give up current MLB talent to strengthen their organization in order to compete in upcoming years.
