Former Oakland Athletics star Jose Canseco is back doing Jose Canseco things. This time, he has signed a professional wrestling contract.

There really is not much that former Oakland Athletics star Jose Canseco would not do for the right amount of money. His forays into independent baseball, and his time as a player/manager are one thing – after all, Julio Franco is still going strong in Asia. But then there is his history with reality television, celebrity boxing, MMA, or his begging people to pay money to spend time with him or get a custom painting. Canseco is the unintentional comedy gift that keeps on giving.

That love of the almighty dollar is leading Canseco to yet another moment filled with insanity. The former MVP has signed a professional wrestling contract, joining World Class Revolution Pro Wrestling, as the organization is looking to mix pop culture with its wrestling stable.

Will Canseco get into the ring? To be fair, would anyone really bet against it? After all, if enough money is flashed, he may well do an impersonation of the Old Man from The Simpsons, dropping his pants and singing a song. One can only hope that, if Canseco does become a wrestler, he gets a match against Joey Ryan, which could produce the greatest match in professional wrestling history.

It took a surprisingly long amount of time for Canseco to get back to his usual self. Last year, he had earned a degree of respectability, working as a broadcaster for the A’s. And then, he lost that job in December after another insane Twitter rambling, providing one of the dumbest takes about sexual harassment to be found.

But should we really expect anything else? This is the person who claimed to have shot off a finger, and to have it fall of while playing poker. Seeing Canseco go off the top rope, or through a table, would probably be his normal Tuesday afternoon anyway. And just imagine the tag team matches with Jose and Ozzie Canseco teaming up!
