Cleveland Indians star third baseman Jose Ramirez welcomed new teammate Brad Hand on social media
The Cleveland Indians started their second half of the season with a bang yesterday, acquiring relievers Brad Hand and Adam Cimber from the San Diego Padres for their top prospect in catcher Francisco Mejia. Cimber, Hand along with a rehabbing Andrew Miller and Cody Allen should give the club a shut down bullpen at the end of the game.
This was a move that was made to help the club down the stretch, but in the playoffs and in the future with Miller and Allen’s pending free agency and the distinct possibility that they won’t be members of the Cleveland Indians after the conclusion of this season.
Jose Ramirez faced one of his new teammates in Hand in the All-Star Game and welcomed him via Twitter.

Nothing like an old school game of Mario Kart, no matter what Nintendo system they may choose to bond a couple of new teammates.
Hopefully Cimber plays too.
Ramirez is having another incredible season for the Cleveland Indians, hitting .302 with a 1.029 OPS, a league leading 29 homers and 70 RBI. He is their best offensive player, and is just 25 years old, so he hasn’t really even hit his prime quite yet.
Clearly the club culture of the Cleveland Indians is one of having fun and loose. It helps when you have a 7.5 game lead in the division and are the only club above the .500 mark within said division.

Hand and Cimber should be great fits on the Cleveland Indians moving forward. They really fill a need in their bullpen and make it deeper. Whether or not their Mario Kart game is up to snuff is going to be another story.
