30. Baltimore Orioles

The Baltimore Orioles have had a rough go of it this season, and their 28-69 record does nothing to ease the pain. Trading Manny Machado to LA was the right call, and if they want to contend with the Yankees in a few years, they have a lot more moves to make.

29. Kansas City Royals

This season, the Royals have not been great at all. In a division lead by the Cleveland Indians (something I don’t see changing for a while) the Royals have fallen out of contention. Like the Orioles, they should rebuild. Will they? Keep an eye out for them the closer we get to the trade deadline, we may just get our answer.

28. Chicago White Sox

This half of the Windy City Rivalry has been nothing more, or less than what was expected of them this season. There is good news, however. The future of the team on the south side is vividly bright.

27. Detroit Tigers

They traded Justin Verlander. They should trade Michael Fulmer, and then this team should seriously consider a rebuild. It could make them contenders by 2022.

26. The Miami Marlins

This past offseason, the Marlins threw themselves into a much-needed rebuild by trading Giancarlo Stanton. They still have a ways to go, but the Marlins are a trade or two away from having a lot of potential.

25. New York Mets

The Mets started off strong, but have since fallen to 13.5 games back of first place. It’s been said that it’s tough to be a rebuilding team in New York but at this point, do the Mets really have a choice?

24. Texas Rangers

A solid team with a bright future, but a squad in desperate need of a massive reset.

23. San Diego Padres

The San Diego Padres are in the midst of a rebuild, and they have the stacked farm system to prove it. As a Dodger fan, I see the Padres more than almost any other team, and even though they are last in the division, they are strong. So, to all you Padres fans, and general fans of the game, you have a lot to look forward to.

22. Cincinnati Reds

The Reds are a team with a solid farm system and some great major league stars, but still find themselves at the bottom of the division. They are stuck between moving forward with the guys they have or giving this rebuild another chance. Trading Scooter Gennett could be a good place to start.

21. Toronto Blue Jays

Like the O’s, the Blue Jays find themselves in a division dominated by the Red Sox and Yankees. Too soon to press the rebuild button?
