New team, new jersey. And for new Colorado Rockies reliever Seunghwan O, a chance to have quite the interesting message for his Korean fans.

When Seunghwan Oh was acquired by the Colorado Rockies, there were a lot of adjustments that needed to be made. Although he had pitched in the National League in 2016 and 2017, he will need to get used to being in the higher altitude of Colorado. And then, there is a matter of figuring out which number to wear with the new club.

However, with that need to get a new jersey number comes potential. Oh certainly took that chance, turning the back of his jersey into a fun phrase in Korean.

More from Call to the Pen

Obviously, Rockies fans are hoping to avoid saying that phrase themselves when they see Oh come into the game. His first appearance was a bit rocky, as he allowed a hit and a walk in a scoreless inning of work. However, he did have a solid stint with the Blue Jays in a setup role, posting a 2.68 ERA and a 1.000 WHiP in his 47 innings, striking out 55 batters while issuing only ten walks.

This trade also shows how much of a disappointment the Rockies bullpen has been this season. They had spent quite a bit to bring in Wade Davis and Bryan Shaw, while bringing back Jake McGee. The hope was that trio, added to Adam Ottavino, would give the Rockies the type of bullpen that could propel them into, and through, the playoffs.

Instead, Shaw and McGee have disappointed, necessitating another move. Now, the Rockies have Oh, adding another piece to what they hope will be a playoff caliber team. If nothing else, his new jersey, and the entertaining name/number combination, could lead to a spike in jersey sales in Korea.

Seunghwan Oh is making a mark with the Colorado Rockies. Fans just have to hope that the translation of his jersey is not a sign of what is to come when he enters the game.
