Chicago White Sox Manager Rick Renteria sent to hospital before Monday’s game after feeling lightheaded

The Chicago White Sox aren’t having the season that they expected to have this season as their rebuilding process continues. When health of people start to get involved, all the struggles and all the other things that go into a ball club tend to go out the window. For the Chicago White Sox that happened tonight.

Chicago White Sox manager Rick Renteria was sent to the hospital prior to Monday night’s tilt against the Minnesota Twis due to feeling lightheaded.

Thankfully, for the White Sox and Renteria tests didn’t show anything of concern and he can even rejoin the team as long as he feels up to it.

The 56 year old Renteria told a trainer he was not feeling well, so the trainer sent him to the hospital to get checked out.

Chicago White Sox bench coach Joe McEwing is managing the club in their make-up game tonight in Minnesota against the Twins.

Renteria is his second year as manager of the Chicago White Sox and this year hasn’t progressed as the club nor Renteria would hope. While Carlos Rodon has taken a strong step in his development after recovering from injury, pitchers like Lucas Giolito and Carson Fulmer, pitchers who the club needs moving forward have not, Top prospect Michael Kopech is set to make his debut tomorrow night.

On the hitting side, Daniel Palka has shown some pop, Jose Abreu continues to be his steady self, but Yoan Moncada hasn’t put it all together yet.

All of that takes a back seat to Rick Renteria and his health and thankfully, it appears that he will be just fine.

We here at Call To the Pen wish Renteria all the best and hope for a speedy recovery and hope he gets back to managing as soon as possible.
