David Price-SP, Boston Red Sox

David Price has had quite a career in Boston so far, but it’s not over yet. The Red Sox have been the strongest team in baseball all season long, and are poised for a postseason run for the ages. Baring any late-season injuries, David Price will very much be a part of that. What happens after the postseason, though, is anyone’s guess.

The guess, however, isn’t all that hard. Last week, ESPN reported that Price has no intention of opting-out.

In addition, he has $127 million left on his contract over the span of four years. He makes more money in a season and a half than the total of Chris Sale‘s contracts thus far (once Sale hits free agency, however, he’s bound to sign a massive contract.)

Price has had some injuries, but for the most part, how he pitches is worth the big contract, even more so should he help lead the team to victory in October.

In his years with Boston, Price has an ERA of 3.69 and a .679 winning percentage. Boston colors appear to suit Price well, and with a squad that looks to stay in the heart of the pennant race for years to come, why would he want to leave?
